Strategic Mentoring Program

In the Strategic Mentoring Program the principles of The Group work personally with business leaders to overcome the challenges to growth.

While many issues facing business leaders are new to the individual, they are certainly not new to business. These same challenges have been faced by leaders in every industry. Many have overcome these complexities to succeed; some have failed. The defining factor in a leader’s ability to grow a company is the ability to overcome the limitations impeding progress through implementation of successful strategies applied to the unique business condition at hand.

The Strategic Mentoring Program provides business leaders exclusive time with the partners of The Group implementing both professional and personal growth strategies. Participants meet twice monthly in a confidential, one-on-one setting focused solely on growing their business. We ask frank questions, probing business leaders to reveal the real issues that may result in growth limitations. We supply insight into successful business strategies relevant to each participant and work with leaders to apply those strategies to their unique situation. The program offers participants the opportunity to develop a relationship with an experienced growth strategist who can help them avoid the pitfalls others have identified and overcome their own limitations to their company’s growth.

The Group’s Strategic Mentoring Program includes:

  • The assignment of a mentor from among the Groups principles that most closely meets your business and personal background
  • Four hours of one-on-one time with your mentor each month
  • Two hours of telephone conferences with your mentor each month
  • Email correspondence

The Strategic Mentoring Program produces dynamic results for leaders focused on growing their business.

Total Shareholder Value

Total Shareholder Value is a valuation strategy based on fundamentals that evaluate a variety of company assets.

Determining the value of a company can be challenging. For publicly traded companies, using market capitalization to determine value is misleading and doesn’t provide the complete picture of a company. When leaders of these companies become fixated on stock price a paradigm is created whereby decisions are made based largely on the response of Wall Street. This frequently leads to shortsighted thinking that undermines value over time.

The fundamental purpose of business is to create value. The Group’ Total Shareholder Value identifies the true source of value creation in a company. While stock price is a factor in this equation, it is leveraged against standard industry multiples and company intangibles. Once these have been defined and metrics assigned, a total value appears.

Total Shareholder Value helps business leaders align their organizations around the principles that create value. Decisions can be made on the basis of analysis of potential value creation. Activities that do not add value to the company can be eliminated. Employees at all levels can understand how their activities link to the creation of short and long-term value creation. The value of the company can increase despite market trends empowering leaders to build companies that withstand the test of time.

Performance Management Framework

The Performance Management Framework assigns metrics to our client’s key business processes in order to measure critical success factors that lead to profits and positive cash flow.

Business is a set of interlocking processes. Since the fundamentals of business don’t change over time or across industries, we’ve designed a framework that can be applied to the processes that constitute these fundamentals. The Performance Management Framework organizes our client’s operations in a manner that tracks real performance and provides the means to initiate timely and appropriate interventions when necessary. Applying the analytic techniques of activity based costing and economic value added analysis; we can map the economic or cost performance of each of these processes.

The Group’s Performance Management Framework is a strategic adjustment that requires strong leadership to be effective. The Performance Management Framework affects our client’s entire organization as it:

  • Identifies key revenue-generating processes across departmental lines
  • Identifies key cost-inducing processes
  • Provides P&L and cost data to people working within the processes
  • Enables profit sharing and bonus systems to reward creators of economic value
  • Identifies areas of opportunity and areas of weakness
  • Focuses organization-wide attention on key industry drivers
  • Compares organizational performance both to intra-industry competition and to best-in-class benchmark firms outside the industry
  • Assesses organizational performance on longitudinal and real-time basis
  • Identifies developing trends to enable appropriate intervention
  • Communicates Critical Success Factors that differ by process.
  • Measures Critical Success Factors and links them to personal and group performance appraisal
  • Aligns organizational mission and group/process objectives

We navigate the complexities associated with securing external funding for our clients. The Group’ experience with funding sources enables us to answer the questions before they’re asked and expedite the process. Our network of relationships within the financial community keeps us abreast of the changing environment that affects capital availability. Based on the structure our clients are seeking we are able to secure capital from a variety of sources, including:
